Appalachian Jam

Dahlonega Square
Most every Sunday on the Square in Dahlonega, musicians gather from near and far to jam. The music is bluegrass and the musicians are very accomplished and the visitors gather and listen in appreciation for the free concert. I was walking about and had an opportunity to get a few shots. Oh, what does the dog have to do with the music, not much, but ain't she cute!?!

Chuck Cannon

Red Clay Theater
Chuck Cannon is one of those performers that I make an effort to see any time possible. He is a phenomenally talented singer/songwriter; he has written or co-written so many hit songs that have been performed by the likes of the Toby Keith, The Judds, George Straight, Leanne Rhimes, Dolly Parton, Billy Dean - any many, many more. Billy Dean

Red Clay Theater
Billy Dean played a great set at Eddie Owen's Red Clay Theater in Duluth, Georgia on Friday, June 14th. I had a chance to meet Billy before the show and was very impressed by his kind and friendly demeanor. His music was beautiful and his musicianship was masterful; a consummate performer he entertained the audience to roaring applause. If you get a chance to catch Billy in concert, don't pass it up, in a word, he is awesome and you will not be...

Mountain Gypsy Project

A Touch of Bluegrass
Barbara and I met Curtis, Mark, Martin and Joseph on the Dahlonega Square on Saturday to shoot a few promotional shots for their new band The Mountain Gypsy Project. It was good to see Curtis and Mark again, and really nice to see Martin again after his time in Texas. It was very nice to meet Joseph for the first time, the bass player for the band. Curtis and the guys are consummate musicians, each are prodigies with their respective instruments and if you...

Chuck Cannon + Heather Wilkerson + Chuck Jones
Barbara and I have known Heather Wilkerson for a good while; she is one of the sweetest people we know and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I first met Heather at the Crimson Moon Cafe via a mutual friend - Curtis Jones. Recently, Heather embarked on an artistic journey. When Heather contacted me in September to request I document this event I had no idea that she was so serious about painting, even more pertinent, I had no idea that she was...
